Meeting the PA Secretary of Education

LVCC staffers met PA Secretary of Education, Dr. Gerald L. Zahorchak (center) who thanked Center Directors, teachers, and administrative staff, for all their hard-work on behalf of children.
As the rain began to drizzle, LVCC Advocacy Leader, Janet Soos, spoke to a reporter about the importance of protecting funding for early childhood services.

Advocating for a Better Budget

Lehigh Valley Child Care supporters were out in force today -- showing their support of the Governor's proposed budget which provides for a healthy investment in early childhood programs.

If you'd like to show your support for early education and basic education, please consider joining us as Governor Rendell's Budget Bus Tour rolls in to Easton on Thursday, June 11th. The bus will arrive for a rally at the Easton Area Middle School (1010 Echo Trail) on Thursday, June 11th at 10 AM. We'll be there. Will you?

Ferrous Attends Family Fun Festival

Perhaps the Iron Pigs BIGGEST star, Ferrous, stopped by LVCC's Fowler Center on Main Street (Bethlehem) to visit with families who attended their annual Family Fun Fest. Ferrous splatter painted, played baseball and posed for pictures with the families. A good time was had by all!

Pre-K Counts Students Celebrate their Success

Students enrolled in the state-funded Pre-K Counts class at LVCC's Judith Chase Early Learning Center celebrated their successes at a ceremony in Allentown last night. Congratulations to all the children and families!

Hop-a-Thon in South Bethlehem

The Preschool and Pre-K Counts classrooms at LVCC's Campus Center (Bethlehem) hosted a HOP-A-THON on Friday, May 22, 2009 to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The event helped children understand the importance of helping others, and earn a sense of pride and accomplishment by aiding in the fight against muscular dystrophy. The children raised almost $800!
